The One You Feed – Illustration

Our new illustration is inspired by the old native American legend The Tale of Two Wolves, a tale that continues to resonate with me since I day I first read it.

“The Tale of Two Wolves”.

An old Cherokee told his grandson
“My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all.

One is evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego. The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy and truth”.

The boy thought about it for a minute and asked “Grandfather, which wolf wins?

The old man quietly replied,

“The One You Feed” ☯

Tonight is the full Wolf Moon, the first full moon of 2024. I feel this is a very potent time to launch our new illustration. As we slowly move through a long and dark January and Mother Nature continues to quarrel away outside our doors so we are forced inwards, into our homes, into our relationships and into ourselves.

This can be a great time for those in need of a rest, time to spend in stillness and reflection. But for some this can be an uncomfortable time, as it can highlight areas of our life that we feel we are lacking or unhappy with. But it’s like the story goes, the more we feed that area of our life the more energy flows to it. So take time to rest, mediate and practice gratitude even with the little things in your life.

This is our second mental health awareness illustration created by the super talented @kerryeugenie thank you Kerry for such a special piece. It is incredibly detailed, yet simple in its own right, which beautifully balances its story. You always go above and beyond for us 🪶

The One You Feed will be in studio and on our website in February. Imbolc and Spring are nearly upon us folks I can feel it in my bones.
